Drug & Alcohol Teen & Adolescent Programs
The Teen & Adolescent Program serves adolescents between the ages of 13 to 17. All adult clients are assigned a primary case manager as well as a small group for engaging in group process. Through independent study several days per week, several of our clients in the Teen & Adolecent Program can earn high school credit while obtaining treatment for their substance use disorders.

Excel Academy, a fully accredited co-educational boarding school for teens, combines college preparatory academics with a strong culture of recovery from substance abuse to serve troubled and underachieving teenagers. Located one hour north of Houston, Excel is situated on 40 acres in a rural, ranch style setting and follows an Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step philosophy. The school provides an environment where students, ages 13 to 17.5 (grades 9-12), can safely distance themselves from the distractions of their home environment, negative peer relationships, and other detractors from living a positive life. Lone Star Expeditions is the alternative to boot camps, licensed to offer students ages 13-17 outdoor experiential therapy. Students are under the care of doctorate and master's level licensed therapists. Based in the temperate climate of southeast Texas, Lone Star Expeditions is a therapeutic program designed by clinicians to provide a focus on assessment, intervention and aftercare.
In a traditional camp setting free of modern distractions, students have the opportunity to simplify choices, gain insight into their values, and learn to accept responsibility for their decisions. As they progress through the program's level system, students experience success and develop healthy self-esteem. Program emphasis on keeping parents connected to facilitate overall family growth. Students can enroll any day of the week.
